The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat presents its 2024 highlight, The Sisters Soong, a gripping family saga that spans a century. Premiering on 31 August at Pentas 1, klpac, this production marks a special milestone for the iconic husband-and-wife team, Joe Hasham OAM and Dato’ Dr. Faridah Merican. For the first time in over 30 years, Merican directs a play written by Hasham.
The Sisters Soong tells the captivating story of three influential sisters from 20th century China—Ai-ling, Ching-ling, and Mei-ling—who navigated power, love, and betrayal in a male-dominated world. With a blend of fact and fiction, audiences will be transported to early 1900s China, enriched by stunning scenography, costumes, and live music.
